On-Location Team Building in Medford, MA
For corporate teams that want to blend professional connection with creative expression, a standard team-building format can leave non-artists feeling left out. Canvas n Cup recently partnered with Agero in Medford, MA, to design a large, dual-purpose on-location paint party that solved exactly that challenge.
Instead of asking everyone to do the same activity at the same time, we brought the studio to Agero and split the space between networking, food, and live painting. The result was an event that united the whole team, whether they picked up a brush or preferred to mingle.
The Challenge: Team Building That Works for Everyone
Agero wanted a high-impact team building experience that could accommodate a large group with diverse interests. The core goals were:
- Fostering connection: Bringing departments together to collaborate, unwind, and network.
- Inclusive engagement: Making sure employees who preferred socializing, eating, and networking felt just as included as those who wanted to paint.
- Balancing the atmosphere: Keeping an energetic yet cohesive feel across a single large corporate space.
The Solution: A Dual-Zone On-Location Paint Party
To meet these goals, Canvas n Cup designed a custom layout that divided the venue into two complementary, high-energy zones.
1. The Networking and Culinary Hub
Half of the space was dedicated entirely to mingling, professional networking, and catered dining. This zone gave team members a comfortable, vibrant place to talk, enjoy food and drinks, and catch up outside of day-to-day project work.
2. The Creative Studio Zone
The other half was set up with easels, canvases, and all the painting supplies, where participants followed our instructor step by step to create a Whimsical Forest painting. Because we handle the setup and cleanup for on-location events, the Agero team could simply walk in, sit down, and start painting.
Results of Agero's Medford MA Paint Party
- Seamless inclusion: The layout bridged introverted and extroverted preferences, letting colleagues move freely between grabbing a bite and checking on the artwork across the room.
- Spontaneous participation: The visual energy of the paint station sparked real curiosity. Throughout the event, non-painting guests drifted over, intrigued by the process, and frequently asked if they could jump in on the spot.
- Stronger company culture: Relaxed networking combined with creative engagement created a memorable shared experience that boosted morale and kept conversations going well beyond the office walls.
"This event proved that team building doesn't have to be a one-size-fits-all activity. By giving our guests the freedom to network, eat, or dive into painting at their own pace, everyone felt included and energized."
Choosing the Right Paint Party Format for Your Team
An on-location paint party was the right fit for Agero, but it's one of several ways Canvas n Cup brings teams together. Here's how the formats compare:
- On-location paint parties: We bring the instructor, supplies, setup, and cleanup to your office, campus, or event venue. Ideal when you want to keep the team on site or pair painting with networking and catering, as Agero did.
- In-studio paint parties: Get the team out of the office and into our studio at 6 West Main Street in Westborough, MA, where everything is ready when you arrive.
- Virtual paint parties: Live, instructor-led painting online, with kits shipped to each participant. A great choice for remote and distributed teams. See our virtual corporate paint and sip options.
- Hybrid paint parties: Connect people painting together in person with colleagues joining online, all in one session.
- Paint party kits: All the supplies plus a step-by-step video tutorial, delivered to home or office so people can paint at home on their own schedule.
Medford MA Paint Party FAQ
Do you host on-location paint parties in Medford, MA?
Yes. Canvas n Cup brings paint parties to offices, campuses, and event venues in Medford and throughout Massachusetts. We bring the instructor, supplies, setup, and cleanup.
Do employees need painting experience to join?
No. Our instructors guide everyone step by step, so first-time painters and experienced artists can paint side by side and all go home with a finished canvas.
Can guests who don't want to paint still take part?
Absolutely. As the Agero event showed, a dual-zone layout lets guests network, eat, and watch the painting, and many end up joining in once they see it come together.
What is the minimum group size for a corporate team building event?
Corporate events require a minimum of 15 attendees.
Can we serve food and drinks at an on-location paint party?
Yes. Many companies pair the painting with catering or refreshments, just as Agero did with its networking and dining area. Let us know your plans and we'll design the layout around them.
What if our team is remote or spread across locations?
Choose a virtual paint party with kits shipped to each participant, a hybrid paint party that combines in-person and online guests, or paint party kits with a video tutorial people can follow anytime.
Can we come to your studio instead?
Yes. Our studio in Westborough, MA hosts in-studio private and corporate paint parties.
